Movie Trailer Remix
Student Work: To change a film's genre to another genre with the creation of a new second trailer for a movie. I used the comedy feature film “Ted” and effectively changed the film's genre or narrative structure, from a comedy to a thriller. After I reviewed and analyzed the movie, I used a nonlinear editing program (Adobe Premiere) to remix and assemble my trailer. I introduced new music, visual techniques and cuts to establish mood and pacing of the trailer. This video demonstrates my knowledge of the conventions of the movie trailer, including standard compositional, structural, and narrative cues. (Video sources and music used for educational purposes only) Instructor Feedback: This is a great idea. Turning Ted into a Chuckie style horror film is a great idea.
